???? [He is 100% healty and all.

[QuoteHe has RI also

how is he 100% healthy and still have a RI?

give him time. If he has an RI then that could be the reason he isn’t eating. if he was conditioned to breed this year then he may take a couple weeks.

don’t worry he can go along time w/out eating. especially if he is 100% healthy. he will not starve himself to death with out having something wrong with him. He should go back to normal after the RI is cleared up. just give him the proper husbandry and respect he deserves. try not to handle him and if you can get big enough hides use them. i wish you the best of luck.

First off...
If it has an RI it is NOT 100% Healthy. An RI is a RESPIRATORY INFECTION, which means basicly that your snake has Bronchitus. Left untreated it can go into Pneumonia. Treatable and curable, totally- with the right husbandry and quite probably needing medication. Healthy means it is free from Infection, Parasites or other health conditions. So by definition, it is NOT healthy at present. It could be at a healthy weight, have good husbandry now with you...but it is NOT 100% healthy currently.

When a snake is "cooled off" or put into Brumation, their systems slow down, simular to Hibernation. It takes some time to get them back up to being active again. Some snakes will eat right away, others take a month or so to get back into the swing of things.

It sounds to me, from your post, that your snake is still "waking up" and has an RI to boot. (Im not a Vet though, nor have I seen the snake first hand, Im just goin by your post.) Keep the Husbandry up, keep the water and cage super clean, and if the RI isnt clearing up take it to the Vet for Antibiotics. This time of year, there are less hours of daylight too. If he is the right age for breeding, he could also be feeling the seasonal change.

After its taken a few good meals in again, you can try to switch to Frozen Thawed. Ive switched several snakes over, so I will be more than glad to give you some pointers once your snake is healthy and eating again! Most snakes will switch over. Some are far more stubborn about it than others...and well, Id be willing to bet there are a few who just wont switch. Just like there are a few who are always going to be really defensive and snap and not calm down despite gentle handling often. Its worth a try. You will need a set of Tongs. I use Barbecue tongs cause they are nice and long.

How is his weight? Luckily Boas can go a few weeks without eating if they start out at a good weight. Im sure with care it will once again get back to being 100% healthy.

Good luck!

I’m not 100% sure on his weight..But he is a healthy weight..His skin is tight on to him..He is very active at night he is all over the tank..Its clean etc..he has no aggresive problems at all...His RI seems like its getting better..He isnt doing it as much or as load as befor..I’m keeping his temps around 90 keep water in there all the time cleaning it every 2-3 days...Its been about 1 1/2 months since he has ate..So like 6 weeks or so..he still has a healthy body after that long tho..So I"m hoping i can try back in 1 week and see if he will take it..If his RI is cured by then..I dont fell like having to hold onto this rat for that long tho lol they stink.

*Chuckles* I used to raise Rats...so oh boy howdy do I know. Id clean the tanks twice a week...and invariably the males would be stinky!

Good luck on getting him to eat, and getting it over the RI.
