 Sick albino red tail

I have a red tail that was doing really well eating but hasn’t really grown alot. i noticed he started getting thin all the sudden so i took him to the vet. he did a stool sample that came back parisite free. but the last week and a half he has been getting thinner and very dehydrated. and now he won’t eat:( i also have a hog island in the same room. is there anything that a hog can carry that sounds like it would have these symtoms? any help would be great

Did the vet have any insight on what may be causing this?

Boas don’t usually suddenly look thin...it takes time to get to that condition.

How long have you had him? What are his cage temps, and humidity level? Have you been feeding prey of the appropriate size and frequency? Has he been showing any signs of illness?

When did he shed last? Did he shed in one big piece or a ton of tiny pieces...was there any shed skin stuck to him? Has he been soaking in his water dish?

How long have you had the Hog Island? Did you quarantine it when you got it? It is possible that the Hog Island may have infected the other boa. How is the Hog Island acting? Is it feeding well? Does it appear to be emaciated or dehydrated?

Amie

the vet guessed that it had liver problems and as it got older it got worse.

That is very odd. It is possible for them to catch certain ailments from one another. Hopefully it isnt something contagious to the Hog. Im sorry you are unable to get it to eat.
Here is hoping it makes a full recovery and you find out what is causing it.
