Pus pocket  i work at a pet store n i feed the reps last week i fed the 6 ft red tail boa a large rat n he ate it but i think it bit him cuz now his nose is swollen n on his body there is a huge swollen pocket n i pop it but it fills up the next day i put neosporin on it to try n help but idk wat to do please help

Pus pocket  If it’s on the nose it could just be from rubbing against the screen top (if there is one). It’s pretty common. I’ve seen many snakes like that. Usually boas. They’re powerful snakes and they can rub pretty hard if trying to push that top open.

Pus pocket  no there is no top n im not concerned bout the nose its on the body where it looks like a pimple a size of a quarter on her n its not gettin better we but neosporin on it but it dont wwork should we be popping it?

Pus pocket  That snake should be getting vetted. If its a bite and there is pus coming out when you lance the wound, that is an infection. Any pet store that does not vet an animal in that condition is disreputable and should not be selling live animals. (I know you are only an employee- not saying you are at fault here at all! clearly you are trying to do something for the animal)
A Betadine soak might be a better rinse solution than neosporin- the petroleum isnt good for their skin. (Unless you have neosporin cream instead of the usual white petrolium based antibiotic ointment) and this is why they should always be fed frozen thawed in my opinion. I lost a snake when I was younger this way.

Pus pocket  uhm we are using the cream n ik he should be vetted but there is nothing i can do bout that it sux but it seems to be doing better he is still eating well and the wound seems to b shrinking
