 Feeding

i have had my red tail for over a year now and hes over 4ft i feed im regularly hes been starting to hiss sometimes when i take him out is it because im not feeding him big enough prey?

What size prey are you feeding him? Have you changed anything in his enclosure lately??

If you could supply more info about him and his enclosure we’d have a better chance of helping you.

Some boas can get like that. There’s nothing wrong with it and I don’t think it has anything to do with the size of prey. There will be times when she/he doesn’t want to be held. They have good days and bad days just like people do (if that helps you inderstand how the boa feels). If she/he hisses, my suggestion is to just leave it alone and try again some other day. But I do think that changing things around in the enclosure will do some justice. Good luck
