hi i have a cage 8 feet long and 3 feet wide for my 4 foot rtb. and his eyes are blue and he is not sheding. is his cage to big for him.

If his eyes are in the blue that means he is in the shedding process it takes time for the process to end. Nothing to worry about.

Large cages can stress out young boas, but for adults the bigger the better.

As long as the temperature, humidity, etc. are correct, a large enclosure should be fine for the snake, provided that there are multiple hides available within the enclosure. Some fake greenery and such scattered around the viv. should also help this snake feel secure inside of a large enclosure. Stress should not be an issue if enough cover is provided for the snake to thermoregulate without having to go out in a wide open space to do so. Having the option of the fake greenery and many hides will eliminate this concern.

I dont think your shedding problem has anything to do with the cage, if he’s been "in the blue" for what you feel is an unreasonable amount of time you should double check your humidity, and make sure his water dish is big enough to take a nice soak in.
