I thought I would put some updated pics. When I got him, he was only 18 inches. This is him now after 6 months time.

And this is him about 1 month after we got him.

Thank you very much. He is a colombian. My feeding schedule was 1 small rat every seven days. However, I think that since I moved him up to medium rats, I am going to switch it to every 10 days. He eats great, fantastic feeding response, I just notice that he is already getting pretty thick so I dont want to be power feeding him.

you can still feed him mediums every 7 days, power feeding would be more frequent than that

Rally nice Colombian! I just love the strange saddle. Kinda looks jungley to Me. Man, if that thing is growing that fast that quick, You’re gonna have a real monster on Your hands real soon. It really looks great. Rapid growth can be attributed to a few different things, not necessarily power feeding. Allot of it has to do with genetics and temperatures. Just out of curiosity, what are the temperatures in Your enclosure? Do You know if one or both of the parents of this animal were really large? Thanks for sharing the pictures.

My temps are 95 hot side "daytime" 85 coolside "daytime" 85 hotside "night time" 78 coolside "night time. Unfortunately I know nothing about the parents. I wish I did though.

I agree with monkeyboy 110%, genetics are key. Your boa looks great, doesn’t look underweight nor odese. IMO, i’d swtich to the mediums and still feed weekly. Do you know how old your boa is? My Peruvian is 1 year and 3 months, and she’s about 54 inches. I’ve been feeding her small rats until about a month ago and I switched to mediums. I figured since it was a larger prey size that I would wait longer to feed her but she still has that hungry look around day 5 or 6. I think once a week would be just fine. Truely nice looking snake, kudos!

I’m guessing that he is 7-8 months at the most. I say that becuase when I got him he was only 18 inches and that was about 6 months ago.

Wow he is growing fast. I got my boa back in august and I have the exact same feeding schedule as you but my boa is only 37 inches long and not as dark as tan yet. just goes to show you no matter what the age even on the same feeding shcedule ect.. there is no set growth rate.
