 Vets for my boa?

ARAV vets

These will be your good reptile vets, the ones who know how to treat reptiles.

 Vets for my boa?

i hate to burst everyones bubble. a couple weeks ago we went to a show and an arav vet was there and explained the club.

arav vets do not take any special classes or courses. they are just normal vets that sign up for certification and pay dues like a union. then they recieve a journal every month about advances in reptile care.

 Vets for my boa?

Very true! We have a "reptile specialist" veterinarian office that is in reality, a bird specialist, that also treats reptiles. The herp. community here discreetly refers to him as Dr. Kevorkian. Can You say overdose? That said, I would see him if I had to. If for no other reason than to acquire medication for treatment. You can bet on one thing though, I would take the medication with Me and administer the proper dosages Myself, based on My own research. The best way for Me to avoid him, is to keep My animals as healthy as humanly possible, hence all the research I do. All and all though, I’d rather take My chances with an ARAV vet., than to let a cat and dog specialist attempt to treat My reptiles. Just don’t take what they say for gospel, and You should be all right. Do Your own research to know if Your vet. knows his reptiles, or is just trying to get to know Your checkbook. Ask many questions that You already know the answers to.
