ARE RED-TAIL BOAS AGGRESSIVE? I can only go by the actions of my rtb, Inga, who is a female sub adult (1 1/2 yrs old). I got her from Deedle, who has several large snakes and posts on this site. She is kitten docile. I have seen no aggression from her except one day after eating she hissed from her hide when I cam in the room. She just wanted to be alone I guess cuz I left the room and when I came back in she had turned around in her hide so she was facing the other way. Otherwise, she is handled every day except feeding day and 48 hours after that. She is very curious but settles right down after she is out of her cage and sits on the back of my shoulders. I do know however that she is still small (4 1/2 feet) and no where near her full size and strength potential. She is very very strong already though. And even tho she is gentle and hasn’t struck, bitten or constricted on me yet, I am aware that it can happen and when she is larger, I will not handle her without another person around. I know that they have the potential and strength to kill you - they are wild animals and strictly instinctual - and although she is docile, she is not tamed.
