I was originally going to get a retic, sense I paid for it, but after finding out how long they get and being jerked around by the pet store, I decided to get my money back (hopefully will get it back on Wednesday) and I bought a red tail boa, 2 1/2 months old. She should get to be 9 feet long, which is more manageable for a newbie like me. ;) I’ll post some pictures tomorrow. Not sure what I’m going to name her yet. I’m wondering. I know she needs a cage that’s not to big. I was planning on getting a big snake, so we have the 75 gal. set up. This little boa is maybe 2 feet long, haven’t measured her yet, and the 75 gal is about 4 feet long. I know it’s to big right now, so should I put in a separator, to make her cage smaller. I don’t want to stress her. Any ideas how to make a separator? I’m guessing pexy glass? Have a great day. Picture of Cleo, Ball Python Pictures of Saphira, Amazon tree boa |

Every male snake I’ve held, I knew was a male before they probed them, which really started to piss off the sales lady. I would hold one, tell her that I didn’t think it was the snake for me, didn’t like it’s personality, and it was a male, and she’d roll her eyes, and ask the boss, and he’d tell her, she’s right. (Thankfully the owner knew most of the snakes sexes, so he didn’t have to keep probing the poor dears) Is it just me, or do male snakes tend to be a bit crabby compared to the females? Anyone else get along better with one sex then the opposite? |
