 Dumeril babys?

I don’t know if any one noticed my previous threads but I was searching for a snake that wouldn’t grow bigger than me and after searching through these threads for a little bit i’ve decided on a dumeril. So I found out how to care for the babies, how big a starting enclousure should be... every thing except... where to get them. So if any one is selling them or could tell me where to find one I would appreciate it. I don’t think any pet stores sell them and even if they do I don’t want to have to worry about wheather or not the snake will eat or not or live for the next month, so any help?

To answer your question(s). I have never seen any Dumeril’s boas in a pet shop. You will have to go to a reptile show and find one there. They don’t get huge but they an reach 6-8 ft. They take from 3-5 years to reach sexual maturaty so be patient. We have a two year old. They grow very slowly relative to most boas I have seen. Very dosile as well. I bought ours at a IRBA show in Los Angeles in Dec of 06. Their care and habitat requirement are quite simple. Do research it yourself please.
Avoid pet shops please. Get one at a show directly from the breeder. Ours has fed on rats from day one. She refuses mice so we started her on rat pups. She is macking small rats now. They are ground boas so you won’t see them above ground much. They prefer a deep substrate. This pic is from last November.
