 Suggestions??

I am looking at buying a 10 gallon cage for my anole, but I am only going to spend the money if I can re-use the cage after he (the anole) dies. So, my question is this; would a rosy or sand boa be comfortable in a 10 gallon their whole lives? Thanks in advance!

Just go to walmart and get a sterilite tub with a locking lid. They are about $7 and you can put a ton of different snakes in them, plus it’ll hold your heat a lot better. All you have to do is get a soldering gun (about $9) and poke holes in it, and get either some flex-watt or heat tape (it’s about $5 at my local reptile show) and you’re set basically!

Im amazed how different the herpetological hobby-culture is between the US and Europe. I hardly ever (never actually) see anyone give the advice to build the enclosures themselves.

If you just calculate the pieces of glass you need and get them cut at your local glazier (if you cant cut yourself), and buy a tube of glass silicone, you could get ten tanks/terrariums for the same price. Its actually really easy to do.

I always saw the building part of the hobby as one of the more fun and interesting, as you can custom make the enclosures to fit your requirement AND the animals.

I am getting a little off subject but... If you ae looking to save a few bucks then (this might just be my area but still) I have found that it is actually cheaper (by $15-20) to buy a fishtank and the cover and clips as seperate things (as opposed to just buying a reptile cage).
