 Temporary rat substitue

my 2 snakes are 2 weeks over due on food and they are starting to serch the cage for food... i wont be paid till next friday and i cant drive to mishigan city to buy rats yet ...... can i go to the grociery store and give them somthing like chicken brest or somthgin as a substitute... any suggestions???

No. you can’t.

Really consider buying more than 1 rat at a time to prevent something like this from happening!

From the sounds of this, you have them both together in 1 cage. Seperate them ASAP!

... i only asked... and i do buy rats in bulk, about 150$ per time its just a 1.5 hour drive for rats and gass blows... and they are separated they’re searching there "own" cages for food.... i figured i could wait just one more week cuz there are a lot of other things i need and im also going to be in the area next Friday... so if there is not a substitute then they are going to be hungry for another week

maybe you can go to a pet shop and buy a couple rats or mice , or feeder fish ( dont know what kinda snakes you have )
granted they cost quite a bit more than feeders , but sounds like it doesnt sound like it happens that often
or maybe there are farms close by and you could get a baby chick or 2
