My understanding is 66% het means basicly that it had two parents who were 100% het for Albino. It could have the gene, or it might be normal. (correct me if Im wrong oh people who have more experience than I with breeding!) I have two 100% hets who are now two years old and 5 feet long. If I were to breed them together, I have a 25% chance of some albinos, 50% chance of 100% hets and 25% chance of normals. The 100% hets and normals would look identical...so I would then call them all 66% het. If I breed one of them with an Albino, that would increase chances of having albinos to 50%, and all normal looking ones would be 100% het. Keep in mind also...they usually have anywhere from 14-60 live babies. Thats alot to try to rehome or sell. I got mine free because the breeder had more normals than he could sell. The female was one of his holdbacks even. I totally scored on them. Ill try to get new pictures up soon. I still havent decided if I will try to breed mine or not. I still have at least another year to think on it. |
