 Can I Trust Them?

So I got some money and I’m looking to buy another rosy boa to breed with my female coastal. I found one that I LOVE and really want to get. But I’m skeptical of LLLReptile.

http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/animals/boas-and-anacondas/-/male-coastal-rosy-boas/

There he is. They say he’s male and that’s what he looks like, and I really want him, but I’m afraid to get a female or one that doesn’t look like that.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn’t buy from them. I’ve heard nothing good from them and Rosys are over priced on that site. If you wish to purchase another, I recommend only two breeders that have been nothing but helpful and kind to me. First check out VMSHerp.com (I will link it). Sean has some babies available right now for a lot cheaper than I’m sure that male is on there. He is also for sure on the gender of his snakes. Here is his available page:

Then you can check out Toplineconstrictors.com. Jason doesn’t have an available page up but I know for sure he has babies. All you have to do is e-mail him and he will tell you what he has with prices. He’s an awesome guy and would recommend him and Sean to anybody!

You can also try the kingsnake.com classifieds. They have tons of Rosys on there for sale!

=/ bought two leopard geckos from them and they are what I ordered, but I’ve also heard bad, so I don’t really know what to think about them.

And thanks, but I’m really looking for an adult male. I’ve done bunches of research and I’ve owned my rosy for two years, and I’m really ready to breed so I’m lookig for a boa that I don’t have to wait so long to breed.

So you know of any places where I can get adults? I’ve tried kingsnake and I don’t really know what to think. I bought two leopard geckos there only to find out they came from LLLReptile(it said it on the box) and they told me they were a private breeder. I also bought a brazilian rainbow boa there, and he came in kinda bad shape(super dry skin in some places, wounds, and a bit underweight.) Are they trustworthy?

Well, I’ll say this now that $150 is quite a bit for an adult male rosy boa. Adult males go for fairly cheap and that is a bit high. You can still contact Jason, he may have some older ones to sell. I am also on a rosy boa forum and I know a lot of the people on there have older rosys they are looking to sell, I can ask there if you’d like me to. I almost got a pair of younger rosys for free so I’m sure they can hook you up with a deal. Like I said, I will ask them if you like.

I know $150 is pretty high for a male, but it’s the dark coloring I was really attracted to.

On second thought, I’m going to hold back on buying another for a while. I just realized I won’t have time, due to my grades in school sucking really hardcore.

Thanks for the offer and te advice, though!

LLLreptile is not a bad place. I’ve been to their retail location several times.
They have a very knowledgeable staff, it’s just that they will do pretty much anything just to make a sale.

They will sometimes lie about an animals health and eating habits. But that’s not always the case.

Go with gut instinct I guess.

If they are in California, and I beleive they are southern Californian, there are laws here to protect you. Keep the receipt. Have a vet check out the animal within two weeks of your getting it. If it is ill they have to either give you a refund (you will have to return it in that event) or they have to pay the Vet bill. I beleive its their choice which to offer.
If you wait longer than two weeks from purchase, its null and void and you are on your own.

I’ve bought from LLLreptile.com several times. I get my frozen feeders from them as well. They can be trusted. Always price shop though. But if they have the one you want, and the only reason you’re not buying is because you don’t trust them, you can. I got three dart frogs and a mountain horned dragon from them.. plus my frozen feeder mice. They’re trustworthy. I know other people who have ordered from them. This is honestly the first time I have heard anyone say anything negative about them.
