 Biters?

DEAD , AND/OR PLASTIC ONES LOL

MY BULL SNAKE HAS NEVER TRIED TO BITE ME
BUT THEN AGAIN MY SONS TIGER RETIC HAS NEVER EITHER
EVERYONE WILL TELL YOU , YOU HAVE TO HOLD THEM , AND MAKE THEM FEEL YOUR NOT A THREAT TO THEM.
EVEN IF AND WHEN THEY BITE , YOU CAN`T REACT NEGATIVELY . IT`S BEST NOT TO SHOW ANY REACTION AT ALL.
KINGS AND MILKS ARE REAL GENTLE TOO .
GO TO A RELIABLE REPTILE STORE , TELL THEM YOUR CONCERNS AND HOLD THE ONE YOUR INTERESTED IN . GET A FEEL FOR IT. THEY SHOULD LET YOU HOLD A FEW
IF YOUR THAT WORRIED ABOUT BITING , DON`T GET ONE .NOT BEING CRAPPY HERE , BUT MOST LIKELY YOU HAVEN`T HAD ONE .
BUT WHAT`S GONNA HAPPEN IF YOU BUY ONE , YOU TAKE IT HOME AND IT BITES YOU . IS THE SNAKE DOOMED TO SIT IN IT`S TANK MOST OF THE TIME . THEN WHEN YOU WANT TO TRY AGAIN , THE SNAKE IS MOST LIKLEY GOING TO SNAP AGAIN , OUT OF INSTINCT.
FIND OUT IF YOU REALLY WANT ONE .HOLD A FEW OF THEM FIRST
DON`T GO FOR JUST COOL OR PRETTY LOOKING .
GO FOR TEMPERMENT .
GET OTHER OPINIONS ON THIS FORUM . GO ON THE "SNAKES IN GENERAL THREAD.THERE`S MORE OWNERS OF DIFFERENT SNAKES ONE THERE
GOOD LUCK
SORRY FOR THE CAPS !

 Biters?

If you want to keep bites as rare as you can, lean toward the fakers. Snakes that defend themselves in the wild by biting are more likely to start out nippy. Snakes that defend themselves by fleeing in complete terror are a more prone to stress, if something startles them and they don’t have any place they can go. The ones like bull, pine, hognose, and fox snake, that deal with a threat in the wild by pretending to be dangerous but not actually insisting on a fight all seem to make great pets. Of course, feeding accidents can still happen, but these snakes aren’t going to bite you just for bugging them at the wrong time. Though they might have something to say about it.

 Biters?

My Sonoran gopher snake use to hiss loudly and she would strike me once in a while(especially after feeding) but after 3 months of daily handling she has calm down a lot and will now let me pick her up no problem.

Point is if you get them while they are young, and work daily with gentle handling, you can make a tame pet out of your snake once it starts to learn that your hand and scent is not a threat, or food.

 Biters?

Had mine from he was hatchling size and I held him often. To this day I have been bitten by my own affectionate , loving golden retriever before the snake even bit me. Still counting the lucky days.
