No, it is most certainly a gopher snake. The nose is unmistakeably.

Gopher. He looks like he has pretty much the same pattern all the way down. Bullsnakes usually look like you took two completely different snakes, cut them exactly in half, and then mixed up which tail half went with which head half.

Bull Snakes/Pine Snakes/Gopher snakes are ALL exactly the SAME snake, just different names. You can’t always tell what area a snake is from by it’s markings, every snake varies. You know, if you aren’t sure the type of snake you have, look up the different types of snakes in your area (if you caught it), then you’ll know. Around here, we have Coachwhips/Rattlesnakes/Gopher snakes/King snakes/Rubber boa’s/Garter Snakes. I caught a coachwhip once thinking it was a gopher until I realized that it was not a constrictor, looked it up and found out that they’re one of the fastest snakes in America and very hard to catch (which was definitely true, lol). Largest gopher I saw was about 7 ft. in length and probably 10-12" in girth. We even caught baby gophers which were able to eat full-grown mice and they were probably only week old snakes.

We do want a kingsnake however (common kingsnakes here in our area) and catch a rattlesnake...it would be very interesting to see a rattlesnake get eaten. A full-grown gopher should be able to eat something as large as a jack rabbit (what we have out here in the desert).
