 Help...

I bought an albino gopher just about a month ago now, and I fed him for the second time on saturday. It’s now thrusday and he hasn’t digested the mouse to my knowledge as I have found no feces in his cage. I’m worried that he may be ill. Also his temperment has changed dramatically since I brought him home, in the store he was the sweetest thing ever and now he’s prone to hissing and rattling his tail. I don’t know what to do, my baby isn’t like he used to be is this all because he’s still adjusting to new surroundings? Help!

yeah , it is probably because he`s adjusting .
maybe the temperature , and humidity is different than the pet ahop.
i`ve heard that some snake shops keep their shop a bit colder ,so the snakes are alot less active and agressive .maybe did thid , maybe they didn`t do this , but your snake is just adjusting.
i have an albino bull too . he hisses and rattles his tail all the time . it`s a total bluff ,. he`s never bit in the year i`ve had him .
as for the pooping , i`m sure he`ll poop eventually . there is no exact time-table.you can still try to feed him .
good luck !

He could be cranky because he’s blocked up. I’d be cranky myself if I had aspen shavings or something lodged in my large intestine. If you want to make sure everything’s working at that end, here’s a trick:
Take some Pedialyte or cheaper imitation version, and mix it 50/50 with warm water in a small, closeable container. I use anything from a deli cup to a large beer cooler, depending on the size of the snake. It should only be a fractionnof an inch deep. it’s not there for him to drink, it’s not there for him to swim in, its just there to soak into his intestines through the vent. As long as his vent is underwater, it’s deep enough. Making him have to worry about keeping his nose above the surface can be stressful if he’s not in the mood. This way, you put him in, leave him alone, he relaxes for about forty minutes, and you put him back in the cage. Often, since he’ll be warm from the soak, he’ll go to his dish for a cool drink afterwards. Anyway, do this once a day and if after three days nothing’s come out, call a vet, but it usually works. It may well work the first time he’s in there.
