Yes, in the wild ball pythons are prone to sudden death from the overwhelming vastness of the great outdoors. That’s why it’s so wonderful that conscientious keepers extract them from the wild and shove them in cramped cages that are less than half their body length where they can feel at ease.

Since it is vertically oriented, maybe something like a Ctenosaura Pectinata would be fun.

Nah, a WD wouldn’t be good for that cage. Their cage needs to be a good few feet tall in itself...
I’m not quite sure, sorry I can’t help on that one.

I dont know if you can do ths, but it would be worth looking into: get like 3 or 4 (female) crested geckos in there. maybe a male too. But you should definatly check into it first i just think that would be cool if you could.

I disagree. Since this is an indoor enclosure, you won’t be able to maintain proper humidity unless you have glass. My advice is to have a small fan placed in the bottom third of the cage and have it on a timer. If it’s running all day it will get too cold and maintaining temps will be more challenging. Most chameleons are delicate, and people kill them, because they keep them in screen mesh enclosures with 30-40% humidity.

A good chameleon to start off with would be a veiled. They are cool looking, very hardy (as far as chameleons go) and inexpensive.

So the challenge is to have a lower temop with a higher humidity? I’m guessing thats what the fan is for?

No, the fan is for increased air flow. However, certain chameleons such as the four horned however do prefer temps in the 60’s.

Seriously, four horned chameleons prefer 65 degrees on the cool side of their enclosures and 75 on the warm side. They are a cooler climate chameleon.

I obviously should have specified a little more though. haha.

Fischers is another that will tolerate colder temperatures. Look it up or you could read the highlight article in Reptiles Magazine that discusses it.

Notice the part where it says night time temps can drop down to the 50’s.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I hate being corrected when I’m right. lol

Iggs need at least 6ft long by 6ft tall... why do you think a 4ft+lizard could fit in there?
