I was told this is about as non toxic as I can get... will it work...

I made a new rock wall for my gecko enclosure, anyway instead of spray paint I decided to go with a non toxic brush paint because even non toxic sprays are worse than brush paint because of the aerosols... anyway before I open this up I wanted to check with a lot of you guys to see what you think of me using this product as a clear coat to go over my grout / styro rock wall...

Jalapeno Splendida’s right. I’m a total idiot and a jerk.

Seriously though, Jalapeno Splendida is just mad, because I criticized him for keeping multiple species in a very small tank with an excessively hot light. I am a jerk, because I didn’t tell him what he wanted to hear. Everyone else was in agreement. Just not him. I don’t even know why you asked for advice, only to get defensive and claim you weren’t doing anything wrong. I guess because I’m more interested in the well being of your animals than being your friend means that the experience I have is inconsequential. I.e. I’m stupid because you don’t like me.

Now, back to this thread. The stuff you’re using is o.k. but it won’t last indefinitely (maybe 2-3 years). I’ve found the best material is a two part epoxy used for coating garage floors. It used to be very expensive, but now a kit is available at home depot which will coat a 1.5 car garage for 60 bucks. It seems expensive, but it really is a wonderful product. Now, whatever product you choose is your choice, but you will need to coat the cracks with paintable caulking. Otherwise, water/water vapor will seep in the cracks, warp, rot, and ruin your wood.

Now, take a look at Jalapeno Splendida’s comical post a ways down, and you can judge for yourself if this is really the kind of guy you want to take your advice from.
