I wouldn’t want a coffee table. I like to see my enclosures up off the ground, for viewing purposes. For a nice oak 48x24x24 enclosure that has nice trim, I’d pay near 400$.

I’ve been looking for a cage like that, but the one’s I see are over my budget...
How much are you thinking about selling it for?

That’s a neat idea. People are always sitting around the coffee table drinking beer, having "coffee" etc. Adds a lot more attention to your pets. Pretty cool. It would be neat to sell these to waiting rooms like at the dentist, doctors, vetinarian waiting rooms, and of course people’s homes. Make some of high quality, but also make some of lower quality so you can offer them cheap too with the option to upgrade to higher quality wood frames, etc. Just make sure they don’t stink. It would make it unpleasant to sit around a stinky coffee table.

It is a good idea and I was going to build one with my girlfriends dad who’s a carpenter but the only draw back is that if its a glass top and it shatters then your in a world of hurt, or at least the animal might be in. Plus, even if its a hard wooden top, I would be worried about constantly taking things on and off and startling the animal with constant noise. It would be a good idea for a setup along a wall kind of like an armoire or fancy dresser. cheaper to build too if you have the tools for it because I saw that one and a smaller end table one and they are really pricey. Around $1,3000.cages

I like the idea as well but be sure to use tempered glass. Sooner or later something hard will be dropped on it. Years ago when I had several tree boas I made a vertical version out of 1/4" sliding patio door replacement glass (something like 6’-4" x 26" as it is as cheap as it gets.

Definitely worth more, say $600 but where are the takers? Everyone wants to make their own who is experienced with their pets so the internet may not be the best advertisement. Pet store displays would be better. Of course thats a lot of up front time and expense. Very nice though; good luck.

I dont agree with that. Id make mine only because I don’t have the 6-800 bucks minimum that it is worth! Sadly, I lack power tools and a workbench. *grumbles* But! That is a very cool looking tank. And I agree, Tempered glass top or wood top would be a must. And not good for people who have a ton of company over often or young children who would climb on it and freak out the snakes inside.

Man. Dads house needs to sell so my sister and I can split the cash and I can have the seed money for my bed and breakfast- and build a reptile/greenhouse shed! (If it smells like snakes, the Mice/Rats will stay the heck out of my seeds is my theory) Then I can just heat the whole thing and have a whole wall of snake/reptile enclosures. Ha! CP...When that happens, You wanna come stay for a month...right? *grins*

The only thing I would be worried about is where the cord is going to go.
