 Cage Help

I have been reading a lot on this forum for about 3 months. Just registered today. You all have some great looking snakes and cages. I posted this on the Redtail forum. Not sure how many people read both so I figured I would also post it here.

I have a Redtail that is a little over 6’ long. Looking to find her a new cage. Can anyone recommend a place that isn’t going to charge me $2500 for one? I am looking for something that she will have enough room in when fully grown. Can I get some suggestions on what size cage I should be looking at for her.

I also have another Redtail that is right around 3’ long. Plan is to get a new cage for the big one and move the smaller one into the other cage.

I will eventually get some pics up. I got the older one at a show in PA. I was told she was an exceptional. The other one I got at a pet store. She has some great markings, gray and she has some pink tint near her head.

Thanks for all advice and info.

I am gathering you plan to buy

so I recommend the cage section at faunaclassifieds...

measure your area you plan to put the cage and look for the cage you can fit in that space with the most floor space possible.

an adult boa should have roughly a 4x2 floor space...but the more the better!!!!!

12" min. for safety...I personally would go no more than 15" high because of controlling heat and humidity.

I personally like tubs, but I have more than 2 boas. Plenty of display cages out there and the only limiting factors are cash and space.

 Cage Help

I am not set on buying. I wouldn’t mind building one but I don’t have the space to do taht right now. I would rather buy one this time and build one next time. Plus I have to figure out exactly how I want to build it. I have been reading a lot on here about cages people built for themselves. I have been putting together pros and cons to materials. Trying to figure out what is best. Not sure on plexiglass and front sliding doors and all that yet. need something with enough ventalation yet mostly closed to keep in humidity.
