Want to build a enclosure to hold a Reticulated Pythong need pointers!

Hi folks,

im getting another Reticulated Python (my last one was stolen) and im wanting to build him/her a indoor enclosure. Now these snake can grow upto 33ft but are usually around the 20ft mark, im gonna get it as a hatchling so it will grow into the cage.
Now i have never built a cage before in my life let alone anything else i love the idea of making things like this so everyday you see it you can be proud of it, but i need some guidelines on how to build a enclosure or evan to convert something into a house for the Retic.
Pics are welcome and thanks for your help :)

The Enclosure I just got off craigslist would house about a 15 footer. You can look at the pics I posted to see how its put together, and what my plans are to make it safe and comfortable for a Boa Constrictor. You’d just need to go, well, bigger.

For a Retic, you’d need to be sure the doors are WELL and truly secure, because they are strong and have all that muscle behind em. I saw one video where a guy built a loft in his room, basically, and a trap door from below to toss rabbits in from. (as well as being able to access doors in the front) Looked like a cool set up...but I didn’t see any hides in it...just a water bowl. Looked like a boring existence. Id at least put hides!

You will need to adapt these designs to 6-8 feet across ...and 3-4 feet deep..as far as height is concerned ....thats up to you. Sliding glass doors can be locked with display case locks....or you can fabricate doors and forgo the sliding glass.....
Timeless spirit

I would suggest going to you tube also ... there are many enclosures to see and copy ideas from.

I am sorry for your loss ...I can’t imagine how someone could steal and move and sell a snake such as that without raising some eyebrows... most folks want to know and do care what and where they are buying from ...or maybe I am naive.

There are other sites I can link you too ...but they all need to be modified to your desires....they give you the basic build a box construction...after that you make your adjustments. I know of some re3tailers that sell cages and they have some very nice units that I have purchased ...they are in So Cal. their main cabinet builder is awesome ...They house their Albino retics in these 4x6’s breeding weight and size...
wfreptile.com...ask for Becky or Chris...I am sure they would help you get some ideas.
