Dwarf Caiman and Snapping Turtle living together I know that i have to be very cautious when housing a snapping turtle with my dwarf caiman . I have had the snapper since it was hatched, I just got my caiman about month ago. They both are always with in inch’s of each other . bask together and have never shown any signs of aggression towards each other . I spend allot of time watching the two together , when feeding time comes , the caiman kills the mice and brings them to the bottom of the tank leaves them and continues to hunt for fish , as i always keep gold fish in the tank , the turtle eats and rips apart the mouse takes as much as he can and Genghis once he has a few fish goes and finishes off whats left of the mouse . Is it possible the two have and Will be friends or with the natural aggression eventually catch up with them and turn a meal out of one of them ! ( don’t want either of them to miss any limbs or worse suffer a horrible death) I could use all the info and help i can get .
I also would like to know if anyone has kept anything like this together successfully together.
I would appreciate all help and info . negative comments please keep to your self , thanks again for the help

Dwarf Caiman and Snapping Turtle living together I wouldn’t keep the caiman with a snapping turtle, there are several cases where the turtle would bite off part of the caimans tail and they wont grow back, so if you want to be sure that your caiman looks like a normal caiman with a full tail I would keep them seperate.......Peace

Dwarf Caiman and Snapping Turtle living together When I had my Caiman’s, one lived with two turtles, a painted and a red ear. The other was much too aggressive (it was a city rescue case and whatever happened to it before I had him made him a dangerous animal). Things went good for just over a year before I noticed any signs of agression. One turtle began to nip at the caimans toes on its rear left limb, so I removed the turtles and gave them to a friend of mine. Afterwards, I closely inspected the caiman (it allowed me to move/handle it by hand) and it had suffered some injury to it’s leg although it was nothing that was permanent. A snapping turtle is capable of doing much greater damage than my turtles were so please do keep a close eye on it, but I suggest separating them since they both have predatorial instincts and fairly high natural aggression levels. Let me know how its going.

Dwarf Caiman and Snapping Turtle living together Just a update , I have separated my Caiman and baby Snapping turtle , only cause I didn’t want to see harm come to either one of them , since I have my caiman seems to be more aggressive , My caiman and snapping turtle did spend alot of time together , basked together and often where found with my turtle sleeping on top of my caiman , the only time I have ever seen any sign of them not getting along was when feeding mice the turtle wanted to take a chunk of the mouse and the caiman opened his mouth and pushed the turtle away didn’t bight or snap just pushed him away , after that i did separate them now I would like to find a good home for my baby snapper ,
Thanks for the advice guys !!
