 Stress?

ok so my baby caiman are in a huge tank and they have everything including great hiding spots but they both freak out anytime somone enters the room and goes and hide! I just hope I am not stressing them out. When i have people over i cover the tank with a blanket and leave them alone! So am i stressing them out by just walking around and near the tank or is that normal for baby caiman?

They should be fine, mine are around people alot and still eat fine, they can stress out and die if ruff housed with to much but it is way exagerated. It can happen but its rare. Caiman freak out more that gators though, mine barks at me when I look him in the eyes, they are a shy species but then again mine eats fine and has grown to be 19 inches in one year which is more than the average growth rate or a dwarf caiman and he has been around people and noise alot. Of course your caiman would feel better alone and with peace and quiet but seeing people walk by and hearing conversion shouldn’t hurt him. They do hate being handled most of them, gators ussually are better for handling. Peace.......
