 Male or female?
I have a year old spec caiman.that is eating good and appear’s to be healthy.and i was wanting to get him or her a friend for breeding. but i don’t know how to sex the little thing, or if i can at this age.i don’t want to wast my money on getting to males or two females. You know what I mean?? So, I was wondering if there was a proper way to sex them at that age?? And also, how big should my caiman be at just over a year old head to tail??

It can be done but you can end up damaging the reproductive organs but anyways they have to be alot older than that to breed or even have the desire to breed, so the breeding project is years away unless you get 2 older caiman or get a female thats a year old and wait years for them to become sexually mature but I wouldnt have the patients for that. Or you can get two adults and they might even breed this year and you might have hatchlings if your lucky, The method for sexing is this, the sexual organs are hidden inside so if you stick your finger in to probe and feel a penis then its a boy and if you dont feel it then its a girl but I wouldn’t try it without consulting with a vet or someone who has done this before, Ive never fondeled my pets cuz I dont plan on breeding them but if you are serious then get a reptile vets help or someone else with experince in sexing, Peace

Thanks, I guess that’s a while away!! LOL!! I guess i’ll have to keep my eye open for two mature adults.
