Stumped!
ok, today i went out and got the pinkies like i said right, brang them home put them on the end of some pliers and tapped his mouth with it. he grabs the pinkie in his mouth holds it for a sec the throws it away! just the same as raw steak chicken deer. can anyone tell me whats going on here? he eats good on fish {live} but nothing else. and he should be hungry hasn’t ate in two days. i pulled the fish in order to try and get him on to some thing differant with more calcium. im sorry guys if i sound ignorant but the guy at the pet shop said that they just eat fish.i lived out in the country and i didn’t have access to the net or the proper info until now.i have every thing else right for the little guy but this.. anyone please I’m not the kind of person that would sit by knowing that some thing is wrong and not doing anything about it. any more tips or tricks on stubborn eaters?or could it be that hes grown such a custom to eating fish that he will turn up his nose up at anything else? man i just don’t know!...stumped.

Stumped! I have been feeding my guy or girl not sure , frozen mice right now thaw them out in water for a few min and cut them in half and place them on a rock just out side of the edge of the water and he comes up and take piece by piece , eats one and then the other , I keep feeder fish In the tank , he snacks on those when ever he feels like it but always eats his mice and other food ,
Good luck and take care

Stumped! yes alot of Caimen are very shy and you tapping his snout with a pinky may just be terrifying him. what I did for my fussy eaters was put a few pinkies on a plate on the basking area and then leave the room most of the time he/she will eventually eat it. After a few months they learn that the plate means food and will eat almost immediately after you put the food in the cage.

Stumped! How old is it? How big is the food compared to the animal? What is the animal’s regular eating schedule? How long has he been on it?
There are a lot of questions that need to be answered.
