Need Feeding Help! Make sure the temp in the room is 80 and above and the water temp should be about the same, the basking area should be about 90, sometimes, well alot of times temps are everything, very important, also try pinky, I still hang mice by the tail with plyers and tap my caimans jaws and he bites the mice and eats them, they need more than crickets though, also through some mazuri crocodilian diet pellets in the water from time to time, good supplement, a week is nothing to be too concerened with, they might have fed him good before shipping, I started my caiman eating by putting hamburger meat on a twig and poking his jaws gently until he ate it, for some reason mine would never hunt its live prey down and eat, he always wanted me to feed him but thats my caiman, not all behave the same. The gator is the opposite and prefers to hunt and capture his own food without any help. Peace.......

Need Feeding Help! As they get older they eat less often. During the winter they eat less often. During a cold spell they eat less often.
Also, their meals are larger as they get bigger, so there’s no need to eat as often.
Also, when they are stressed (travel, enclosure maintanance, etc..) they don’t eat for a few days.
Like Simbaah said, a week is no big deal. During the winter I’ve been skipping feeding mine for weeks at a time.
