 Sick Caimen

Help! We have a sick caimen.

Amos was seized from a meth house. We have had him several months, and he has been consistantly a poor eater. I’ve been feeding a rotation of rosy red feeder fish, minnows, gamefish cleanings, rabbit, pinky rats, chicken, beef. He has been getting repcal in his dead food. His water is 85 degrees, he has a UVA/UVB bulb (Power Sun by Repsun)

He has been increasingly more anorexic- has refused to eat for over 3 weeks now. Lethargic, his throat skin seems swollen, skin underneath is more pink than normal. Tongue is pink. Am afraid to force feed him, do not know what I am doing. I can tube feed snakes etc but I don’t know enough about caimen anatomy to do so confidently.

Closest herp vet is 300 miles away.

He is still lunging at me when I really piss him off- thats a good sign, right?

Can he have antibiotics? What kind?

and you could send a feces sample to a vet or college that does sample checks through mail
