 My caimans home

hello! before some days i take this caiman from a guy that didnt care him good.i have a lot of space and i keep animals a lot of time,reptiles about 7 years(specialy snakes).so the litle guy is one year old but small for his age.i have baught calsium and nekton and when he start eating mice i will give to it.at the moment the small guy isnt want eat anything else than fish.i have uvb 8.0,heater in the water,carbon filter and spot red light.

He said he feeds it fish.

That kind of caiman can get 5-8 feet.

caimans can grow even larger than that, but unlikely in captivity, but at the small size that caiman is, feed it fish, and even some large insects. insects are an animal they eat in the wild. pinky mice, and fuzzys on ocassion.

No, they rarely if ever calm down to handling especially caimans. Alligators may tolerate it a little better but it depends on the individual of which calm ones are few and far between.

The poor little guy looks extremely skinny, but try not to feed it too much fish (goldfish).
