What type of catfood do you feed? I have been feeding my cats when I was a teenager, Friskies.. as I grew older I changed their diet to something a little better, which was Iams.. now my friend works at a petstore where they sell Natural Choice (Nutro) and I guess she says it is one of the best foods, because there isnt any cornmeal, fillers, and bi products.. does anyone use this and if you were using a different food did you notice a difference in your cat? It is quite expensive here.. like $39 for a 20lb bag.. maybe even more I forget.

What type of catfood do you feed? I recently switched from the cheapo food to nutro. Nutro and BlueBuffilo Are the two best brands of catfood out there. The prices are higher because they’re using better meat than the others (the other, cheaper brands use chicken feet, beaks, cow hearts, other byproducts). In Petsmart it should cost 15 dollars for an 8 lb bag. The good thing that makes the price for the larger bags bareble is that the cats will eat less of it, but at the same time gain more from it. This is due to the lack of fillers.
Anyway, 3 of my 4 cats (the 4th being overweight) were switched from 4 dollar cheapo bags (like whiskas) to Nutro. While the changes weren’t sudden or quick, they do seem healthier from it. Their teeth look better, I’ve seen barely any hairballs recently (which is a nice turn of events for one of my cats). The biggest change I saw was in my emaciated, old, pre-abused rescue cat: Tedd. When I adopted him 3 years back he was lethargic and thin. That hasn’t changed over the years. But since I put him on Nutro he’s been gaining back much needed muscle mass and weight. He Loves the taste of it. His teeth had the biggest improvement of all the cats. And while I adopted him with the knowledge that his life will be drastically short, he seems Alot better off on the expensive catfood than the cheapo stuff.
So yes, I do recommend either Nutro or BlueBuffilo if you want to change brands. That’s the best you can get short of running out and buying premium cut meat at the grocery store.

What type of catfood do you feed? no! nutro has many fats and preservitives in it, yah it’s cheap but think of the cat. do you want it to live long? if so go iams, although they have preservitives they only have a little with small peices so that they can digest and an assortment of kinds, like light, diet, normal, salmon, etc...
on top of that iams has baked chicken and rice for the longest living, just to give you a few tips...

What type of catfood do you feed? IF You want your cat to live more and have healthy life, teeth, coat, eyes, then i would Really! recommend Cat Science Diet food. Vets and all high breeders feed there cat and kittens that. Guaranteed it really works. They would never feed there cat regular cat food you get at the stores will cause diarea and stomach pain. I feed my cat Science Diet food and costs 19 bucks for a good size bag. Also canned foods.

What type of catfood do you feed? Vets recommend science diet because science diet pays them to. Some vets can’t stay open unless Science diet is around to give them money to sell their stuff. It’s done me no good. Same goes for some shelters.
My bro switched to science diet because the vet said his cats were too obese.. but even at the correct amount it’s done nothing over the years to make them loose weight.
The only times my cats have diarreah is if I switch them too quickly from one brand of food to another, and that’s only if I have to. Cats will also have diarreah or stomach ailments if they’re continually switched from one type of catfood to another and this can lead to perminant problems when they get older. Dogs and I’m sure other small mammals have similar probs if continually switched on food brands. If you stay with one brand and one brand only, the digestion should remain stable.
I’ve only seen good things come from my cats when they eat Nutro. And I’ve heard plenty of good similar stories during my research on it and blue buffalo. my other two cats that eat it have not gained weight, gotten sick, or such. Fact, I believe their health has improved.

What type of catfood do you feed? actually, science diet can be quite good. we’ve fed my cat science diet her entire life and her only two health problems have been cancer and liver failure (cuban tree frog slime was ingested). we switched to the vet brand of science diet after the liver thing and its the only food she can keep down without problems. and the cancer thing is gone and she is a survivor. i would definately recommend science diet, and also, petstores sell it too, its not just the vets.
also, it really depends on the cat, some do well on one food that has no affect on other cats. science diet, blue buffaloe, and nutro are all good choices. oh, a cheaper brand of nutro will be just as good for your cat. they currently have three sub-brands including the one you mentioned, but they are basically the same. we went over it when i was working at petsupermarket and their rep told us that. its even more obvious when you compare the brands by nutrition and ingredients.

What type of catfood do you feed? Ogoao- Nutro is NOT cheap, its twice as much as Iams, and it doesnt have fillers, biproducts (corn isnt the first ingrediant) .. Iams has all that stuff in it, making it a worse food than Nutro.. im not quite sure you are thinking of the same food.

What type of catfood do you feed? My cat has a very sensitive stomach and throws up when stressed also. I had her on Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and the throwing up didn’t quite stop. I won a year’s supply of cat food from a pet store (Nutro Natural Choice) and switched her, now she throws up even less. I then switched to the fat kitty version and she lost 3-4 pounds. I don’t know how good it is ingrediant-wise but it keeps her food down so I’m happy with it.

What type of catfood do you feed? I so gotta agree with you on the ’keeping things down’ thing concerning nutro. I have a cat that likes to vomit up new stuff or canned stuff once in a while and after putting her on nutro, she completely stopped doing it. I’ve also seen considerably less hairballs and much nicer crap from my cats.
As for weight management, it was the opposite for me. I’ve just been giving my cats regular nutro and my emaciated rescue cat, Tedd, Really gained back good weight. It’s quite noticable, specially to touch, that he’s gained back muscle mass compaired to before. And especially for an older cat, that’s quite an accomplishment to me. I don’t know what’s in the stuff, but out of every brand I’ve tried over the years, Nutro really made a difference in body weight and health.

What type of catfood do you feed? I recomend Science Diet (I think they only sell this at the vet), OR Royal Canin (I think that’s how you spell it) Royal Canin can be hard to find though. Petsmart sells it, but since you don’t have a petsmart you will need to check at the locally owned pet store in your area.

What type of catfood do you feed? my vet says that any food that has wheat, dairy, barley, or corn is bad. that makes most foods for cats bad. i believe that brands like pro plan and other premium brands have great dog food but simply do not have good cat food. he says it’s mainly due to allergies and immune systems that these other brands are no good. however i was feeding my cats regular cat chow. i have switched to a better brand and now the litter box stinks 20 min after i clean it and they have started using the carpet now which they have NEVER done before. so i think i’m going back to the cheap cat chow.

What type of catfood do you feed? I have 2 cats. The older one had a skin disorder (some kind of dermatitis) that shows up as a big rash sometimes all over her body. The vet said it is more than likely an allergic reaction to something in her food. I had her on Authority, which is supposed to be a good brand, and that’s what they had her eating at the shelter I got her from so I stayed with it. She started having these break outs about 6 months after I got her. The vet said food allergy, so I tried other brands. I went through, science diet, Royal canin, Iams, You name the good brand and I tried it. When the outbreaks continued, I started looking at the brands that are not supposed to be as good. Don’t worry, I know how to properly introduce new foods. Anyways, When I got to Meow Mix the outbreaks stopped. I keep her on that unless another member of the family decides to be nice and buy my cat food for me and they just happen to forget to tell me they bought another brand. I usually find this out after I take another trip to the vet for $35 worth of meds. I get back from the vet and ask, and that’s usually when I get "Oh, yeah, I meant to tell you I thought your cat would like this brand more..." But anyways, eventhough it’s not supposed to be one of the "good" foods, but I like Meow Mix.

What type of catfood do you feed? Nutro is good but the absolute best food out there right now is Wellness brand. Yes it is expensive, yes the cans are smaller than other brands, but honestly speaking it is the made from the most natural ingredients oout there.
Science Diet pays vets to sell their product. Do NOT beleive everything you hear from your vet without taking majority opinion first.
