HELP My cat is 9 and has just started to use the bathroom behind our TV set. I don’t know if it is because we have a new cat litter or what. She still uses the litter box but about once a week she messes behind the TV. If anyone has any advise please tell me what to do, I don’t want to put her down.

HELP oh don’t put her down!!! if your cat has always faithfully gone where she is suppost to and now all of the sudden isn’t it could be a simple health problem (urinary tract infection) or you said you changed her litter that’s why!! if you have to change litters give her an adjustment period. get a bag of her old litter and start mixing the new kind GRADUALLY. (about 1/4the volume of the box per week) so the first week put in 3/4 of the old litter and 1/4 of the new, the next week 1/2 and 1/2 etc. until she has adjusted. your potty behind the tv problem will go away!!! (if not or she starts peeing in other places during the process, or if her pee is really smelly take her to the vet) they will be able to do the test and treatment for about 20 bucks probably. thats less that the cost to put her down!!! let me know if you have any more ??’s

HELP that’s the thing, she still uses her littler box and she has used this litter before with no problems. We just got a new kitten but I don’t see how that would affect her either. They both have vet apt. next week for a check-up but she is still eating and drinking normal. Kiara is only 9 so she is still a young cat.

HELP the kitten might be it too, cats are very spiteful!!if it’s just been you guys this whole time and now there is a new kitten she might just be doing that to get back at you for interupting her life!!! still keep her vet appt though. until then i would get a spray bottle with water and some white vinager in it. when she goes back there spray the crap out of her. (you can also use the vinager to clean the messes, it will take out the smell from the accident, and cats have a natural aversion to the smell of vinager (white, for your carpets sake!!) so it will make her less likly to go back there. plus the spraying with the "smelly stuff in the bottle" should do the trick!!!
