He could possibly get sick, which left unattended could cause death. You need to put your cat on a monthly deworming program to prevent him from getting intestinal parasites, but other than that, I would not worry about it.

 CAT ATE A MOUSE!!!!

my cat, who thought he was Mufasa (sp) lol, use to bring home his íshareí of the meals. and eat them right in front of me.

i wouldnt worry about cats eating mice. they are hunters and will do that. very norm!

ive also heard that cats can have the natural ability to protect themselves from internal parasites. cant remember where i heard that, but has any1 else heard that?? i think they said because he was part wild, not sure...

Def not true, atleast with domestic cats. You should have any outdoor/mouser cat on a deworming program.

 CAT ATE A MOUSE!!!!

the only thing i would worry about (besides worms) is if the mouse was caught inside the house..and IF u use a D-con...type thing..(mouse posion)....i stopped using that because if one of my cats eat a mouse that has ingested some of the posion..the cat can get very ill...thanks..wendy

 CAT ATE A MOUSE!!!!

Old fashion mouse traps worked in our 250 year old house. Ans what the trap didnít catch, the cat did. However, this guy doesnít believe in eating anything that moves he would rather play with it till it dies.

.ooh yeah!!.....you are right!! traps are probably the best!...but not the kind where the cat can still eat the mouse....((if u use the d-con also))...there are some traps at like walmart that the mouse goes into (like a box)..and it kills them..but the cats cant eat the mice during the night..until u can check the traps...iím probably gonna go get some soon...thanks for giving me an idea keecho..wendy

 CAT ATE A MOUSE!!!!

it is natural for a cat to do this of course. itís not all that healthy but may not hurt him at all. iím a vet tech and the other day we did a fecal check on a cat and he had some strange type of intestinal parasite that i had never heard of before. the doctor said it was from eating mice. so like the others were saying itís good to make sure you get the cat checked by your vet regularly for parasites and make sure since heís outside you keep his vaccinations up to date. one more thing that i havenít seen but can happen. if a dog or cat eats bones, especially thin sharp bones that splinter easily, like chicken bones that can be fatal. the bones can puncture organs. overall thereís no real way to stop your cat from catching and eating a mouse. good luck.

 CAT ATE A MOUSE!!!!

Funny how he catches them, a couple days ago, we were getting ready for school, and we open the door, and theres moose, sitting down with a LIVE mouse in his mouth, he lets it go and it gets loose in the house, after school, i look under the dryer, there it was, so after 30 min of trying to catch it, i get a glove, and grab it by the tail, then i threw it on the street as hard as i could, i broke its legs. I felt sorry for it, but heck, its fine, i might think about getting those snap traps, and put it on the hole where the mice get in, thatíll be a shock.
