Call your vet, I’m sure they would let you make arrangements to pay. In the case of an emergency like that we never refused treatment. As long as they sent us something each week or month it isn’t a problem.
I’ve dealt with so many broken legs with my cats over the years (even cats who never go out!) and find they heal well at that age.
Good luck. (which kitty is it?)

Call a vet. If you can’t afford the surgery, arrange a payment plan or take him to a no kill rescue where he can be treated! It isn’t fair for him to sit in pain either way, but I’m sure you can arrange something for him.

For future reference, I suggest getting pet insurance. It’s pretty inexpensive and would take care of any situation like this.

Also, if he goes outside, keep him indoors! He is far less likely to get hurt.

That sucks! Either way, he is in a lot of pain and needs to see a vet immediately. Most emergency vets will do payment plans. Why not explain to him that when you decided to get him/keep him you decided to take him to the vet if he ever needed it and it is yours and his responsibility to take care of him. If your child got hurt would you give him away? No, you’d have health insurance for him so he could go to the hospital whether or not you had a lot of money.

If you need to give him up, find a no kill shelter to take him so he can get medical attention right away.

Poor little Thai! He’s my favorite! Your husband sounds like my ex. He seemed to feel that pets were "disposable" if they needed anything but routine care until I finally stood up to his demented views and did it anyway. So call your vet and get that little guy treated. I’m sure they’ll accept $5/week even and you can tell Josh it was pro-bono or something.
