 My cat rescue video!!

http://www. youtube .com /watch?v=Hpz0UAuQXFA (no spaces)

It’s the video that a friend of mine made about our rescue last year. I don’t think I ever posted it.

 My cat rescue video!!

That was great! You and people like you are just ONE MORE reason to support rescue groups!! Good luck to you guys as we are again in kitten season! May you find many loving homes for the cats in your care. Gotta ask were any of the 18 reptiles ever found? Break in ever solved?? Did not get to see the end of the vid for some reason my computer cuts it off at the party scene part.

 My cat rescue video!!

Thanks! We, I believe, multiplied our adult adoptions by five in the year after the rooms were built (2007) and are still growing (and still looking for a larger place to move in the neighborhood). It’s too bad you didn’t see the end! That’s the best part.

A few of the reptiles were found, as follows (though the culprits were never found):

3 adult geckos were found loose in the store, seemingly just "released" in the next few days after the break in (though the 21 year old blind female store pet gecko we had been hand feeding for years was not)

2 baby geckos were found in an empty, dark hermit crab tank with sand about 2.5 weeks after the break in by a little boy who was looking in the tank. We didn’t ever look in because there wasn’t anything to take care of in there. The two geckos were actually doing well! Lol, they have long since found homes.

1 bearded dragon was found in Carkeek Park about a month later. It was cold, thin, etc. and we think was dumped because his cage was labeled "female" when he was actually a male (a very new rescue right before the break in and we hadn’t yet checked). He was aggressive before he was stolen due to mistreatment, and was even more so when we got him back from some kind people who found him. He did get adopted about 6 weeks ago, however, to someone with a lot of experience who didn’t need a pet he could handle frequently.

None of the other reptiles were found, but many of the loose hamsters, mice, etc. were found (and we have finally completely taken care of the population of loose mice that arose using humane traps).

Anyway, thanks!

 My cat rescue video!!

That is awesome! I totally want to start a rodent rescue but dont really have the means at the moment... they seem to be the #3 most common type of animal needing homes around here second only to a bazillion kittens and a few thousand puppies :( Good luck with the rescue and im glad you found most of the animals!

Yep. Rabbits and guinea pigs are SOOO overpopulated and are filling up so many shelters. People get them when they are cut little babies and don’t realize that they live 8-12 years and are actually quite messy, destructive, and expensive.
UGH.

I’m very emotional and to be honest, I got a little choked up...but that was a wonderful video. I absolutely love Animal Talk and wish it were closer to here!
I’ll visit soon =)
I’m bringing a friend looking for a kitten when I come to pick up the rats. Maybe she’ll fall in love.

 My cat rescue video!!

Lol. You’ll want to come on a Saturday to see kittens! They stay in foster homes all week and then chaos breaks loose when about 50 come in for adoptions : )

So warn her that she will see a bunch of kittens in carriers, but they don’t live in them!

Caitlin made the video (did you meet her?), she majored in film studies at the UW so that’s kindof her thing. It’s pretty much amazing, but she’s always saying "I should have done this differently" and "We ran out of time there". Lol, according to her it isn’t finished (it’s been like a year).
