 New fosters!

My mom took my camera to India, but I got five new foster kitties today! We rescued them from euthanasia at another shelter. They are 3 weeks old, and very small for their age (full of worms but bony). However, they are eating a ton and are otherwise healthy! I gave them their first doses of worming meds tonight so hopefully their bellies won’t be so swollen soon.

I will post photos this weekend, just thought I’d share. I’ve got 3 boys and 2 girls, all piled up taking a nap in the carrier.

Aww that’s so great. I hope they do well!
I just want to ask, do no-kill places go looking for rescues at "kill" shelters, or do the "kill" shelters look for the no-kill places to rescue theirs due for euthanasia? Just curious. I was never really sure how that worked.

The general rule is that no shelter or rescue is ever "looking" for cats, lol. Kill shelters do everything they can to move cats out, find foster homes, do adoptions, etc. to make room for incoming cats, so we get calls all the time from shelters wanting to get cats into our rescue. We can’t say yes to everyone, otherwise we wouldn’t be no kill, but we do about 300 per year from Everett Animal Shelter, and a bunch more from other shelters.

So no, we don’t call up other shelters, they call us : )
