 I NEED HELP BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO HIM!!

My male (fixed) cat is an inside and outside cat. So he goes out sometimes. But I have just one problem. When he comes back,the neighbor’s cats have i guess tried to mate with him,that’s what it looks like. He has sores on his tail at the base and on the front and back of his neck. How do I stop this problem? Can I put something on him that will keep them away? I can’t stop him from going outside either,that’s not an option. He will just get mad at us and pee everywhere in the house. So please help, thanks!!

from what it sounds like your neighbor cats are trying to "mount" your male cat? that’s unusual. anyway, you should talk to your neighbors about the problem and have the situation taken care of from there. Your cat is not the one who is causing this problem it sounds like. explain to your neighbors the problem, and hopefully they will respect your words...

but i don’t know who the other cats belong to or where they live.i used to know where 2 of them lived,but they moved.but it still happens,so there’s more cats. and i will get pics

Well, a vet is a good option. Infected wounds and sores can become a huge, expensive problem if not treated right away. He should also be tested for FIV and leukemia if he has been tangling with other cats. Are your neighbor’s cats fixed?

Perhaps you should build an outdoor cat enclosure, or cat proof your fence to keep the cat on your property. You are more than likely breaking the law by allowing your animal off of your property, and it is therefore not your neighbor’s fault, though they should be getting their cats fixed and keeping them on their properties as well...

I know you said you don’t want anyone to say keep him inside but that is what I am saying now. KEEP him inside and WORK on the peeing problem. That is the only way you are going to keep this cat safe.
