 What color is this kitty?

My new kitten Ashlin is so pretty, don’t you think? (Good thing too because she’s a little brat LOL) I love her coloring & the pictures don’t even show it that well. She’s mostly gray but has patches of brownish-yellow. What color would you describe her as? One vet called her tortoise shell. I’m used to the much darker tortoise shell so would you say she’s a dilute tortie or dilute calico maybe?
She also has some tabby markings on her head & her legs. Her body has no stripes; it’s just patches of color. Her belly is white & spotty. She’s gotten more brown & less gray as she’s grown.

 What color is this kitty?

I would guess a tabby. She could shed out to be something different as she grows.

she looks like a gray tabby, with a couple of patches of orange...i see what you’re talking about. probably her mother or grandmother was a tortoise shell. because it does show through.

actually, a tortoise shell is typically known to look brindled, having practically no white at all in the coat. the colors are orange, black, and chocolate sometimes. we are used to seeing the orange and black ones. when a tortoise shell has white...that’s considered a calico. so the orange spot indicates that there is some tortoise shell, or calico, or something. just know you have a cute kitten, and probably a little unique.

you can look tortoise shell on wikapedia

aw! she’s adorable! i’d say she is a Tortie. she’s pretty close to the color of my brother’s kitten spencer who is also a tortie. ur kitten is just a little lighter then her.

 What color is this kitty?

She looks similar to your kitty’s colors Jonas_Brothers_rock. But yeah, she doesn’t have the black on her. Her darkest areas are still only a very dark gray, not black. She does have some white so that’s why I was thinking dilute calico (like someone mentioned above, I heard that when white is added to the mix a tortie becomes a calico). She’s def much more patchy than stripey so the tabby side seems weak. She’s got a tabby face, tabby front legs, & a very slight tabby tail, also a spotty tabby belly, but her entire body & back of her head is all patches. The patches are getting more defined. It’s fun watching the colors change as she grows!
She’s a pretty girl for sure. She looks like a scruffy little street kitty who got dirty. The vet said it looks like she got dipped in paint. LOL! And my bf said she really does look like she’s covered in ashes so her name, Ashlin, works perfectly for her. Her nickname is Ash.
Thanks for all the input! I’ll keep posting pics as I get some in better lighting!

 What color is this kitty?

this is easy, she is a "Dilute TORBIE". the term describes the dilute color, and the mixed pattern of the tortoishell, and the tabby marking especially concentrated on her face and legs.

 What color is this kitty?

I’d say maybe a dilute tortie-shell... or a gray tabby....I have a dilute tortoise-shell and my neighbor has a dilute calico...
