There is a product called Natures Miracle. Its enzymatic and breaks down the scent. However, it may also spot the leather so test it first somewhere it wont be seen. (and if you cant use it for that, it also gets other natural odors like blood and vomit out of matresses and such- handy to know if you have kids during stomach flu season...or are a woman)

I would put a cover on the couch- a big blanket or large sheet- to protect it from the cat until it gets used to it as furniture and isnt marking territory. Good that you ruled out a UTI by taking her to the vet.
Perhaps lock her up in the bathroom with water, food and her litter box when you cannot supervise her, and make the couch an off limits- humans only zone for a while. Once you establish it with your scents and make it your territory, you can invite her to come up with a treat.

Nother cheaper product that gets rid of the smell not only to you but to them as well is a mixture of 1/4 white viniger and 3/4 water, also dump the litter box of all litter and clean it out real good with the mixture and put clean fresh litter in it. Leather has a powerful smell that attracts cats to pee on it, alot of cats do it....

 Cat peeing on couch

I have a cat that pisses on furniture whenever she is upset over the smallest thing. It’s all behavioral on her part from being traumatized as a kitten (from her previous owners. 2 year olds, dogs in heat, and kittens do not mix.) The only thing that even remotely works, outside of scooping the litter twice a day and keeping her out of stressful situations, is to get some antistress smell stuff. I don’t know the actual product name, but it’s something akin to Glad candle plugins - and sometimes comes in a spray bottle format. It releases a scent that will sooth an otherwise constantly stressed pissy cat. You can go to Petsmart or Petco and ask about it. But I warn you, the stuff is expensive.

I’m too late to the party, and a general bearer of bad news, but hey... Really expensive leather couches come with a 5 year warranty for this sort of predicament. The number for it comes with the leather cleaning kit. If your couch was cheap, then there was really nothing you could have done. For your new couch, you should seriously invest in a cover for it to protect it from future piss.

There are a few things concerning your cat that you should take into account:

1. There should be 1.5 litterboxes per cat (or two for one cat). If you have many cats sharing one box, that may be a culprit.

2. The litter should be a fine grain or plain catlitter. Avoid stuff like Feline Pine, or pellet litters like it. Also, and I know this will be hard for anyone to do, avoid litters with too much perfume - which is a deterrent.

3. Put the litter in only an inch or inch and a half deep. Cats like to feel the bottom of the box. If they have to swim in the litter, they will not be happy.

4. Sometimes cats will have an upset stomach from certain types of food. If this is a pissy cat, they will communicate to you that they aren’t happy with their food through pissing on something that will immediately get your attention. If you are constantly changing brands of food, this may be it. If you aren’t, try casually switching to another brand and seeing if anything changes. Um, as a side note, keep away from 9lives or MeowMix, as the vomit from that stuff will permanently stain carpet.

5. Lock the cat in a basement, bathroom, or bedroom area during nights. If you have an area with a solid concrete floor - like a furnace or storage room - that would be the best option. Of course, supply the cat with one or two soft things to sleep on, water, and their litterbox. If the area is large enough and the cat isn’t changing, the cat can permanently live here - this is a last resort, if you don’t want to get rid of the cat. I’ve generally had to resort to this with Mueshi, since her behavior problems are too far evolved to fix; she’s been exiled to my basement. If you catch this problem early enough and fix it, you should be okay.
