HELP! I have a cat and hes 3 years old i think. We just got him a year ago from the animal aboption place and ever since we’ve had him hes gained ALOT of weight. I don’t have any pictures of him on my computer yet but ill be sure to get one in a few days. He likes to play mouse police. I’m not sure if he eats them or just kills them. We’ve found a few that hes just killed and a few that look like they’ve been eaten.I like the fact he kills the mice but still this could be a problem if he’s eatting them. All this weight gain with him might not be to good. Hes fixed and hes and inside cat. I know that there adds weight but it shouldn’t be as bad as he has it! We feed him once a day (1 & 1/2 cups of cat food). I don’t know what to do about it. I’m thinking about taking him to the vet if he doesn’t lose any weight. I’m not sure if theres any kittie diets or something like that , that i can get him on for his weight. I love my mister cuddles but my babys getting way way way too fat. well, If you have any advice i’d really like it much. So post me and ill get those pictures for you tomorrow. -Anna-

HELP! My cat Sagwa is believed to be a barn cat, and also chases mice. (She’s also really fat too) She was just treated for tapeworms today-mice can give them that, so have your little one checked. A problem that is NOT fixable is if your cat were to have a thyroid problem. My dog has one, and doesn’t eat enuff 2 b as fat as he is, but b/c he has a thyroid problem he cannot control his weight. I don’t know much about these types of problems, but you might want to have a blood test run on your kitty if he IS gaining weight but is NOT eating enuff food to make him gain as much as he is. I hope he slims down a bit, best of wishes to you and Mister Cuddles.

HELP! Mister Cuddles eats alot of cat food and chases mice all day. Hes a funny lil guy to watch doing it. When i had a hamster and a mouse he would stalk their cage if my door was left open. Then one day he got my hamster cookie and my mouse exscaped. Still haven’t found that mouse yet but im sure mister cuddles got it lol. We have this hole in our basement wall that leads to the other side of the house. The hole is only big enough to fit a cat or something small. He goes over there and catches mice sometimes. Well we think he doesn. Just not to sure yet. Couldn’t get that picture b/c he was in there chasing mice again. well gotta go to bed -Anna-

HELP!
You know what I got for my cats when they started gaining weight...and I know it may sound silly but it’s a laser pointer...they just love chasing that little red dot all over the place...it’s the funniest thing ever..I guess what I’m trying to say is an indoor cat gets WAY less energy than an outdoor cat sometimes you just have to find some kind of exercise for them to do... I wouldn’t over look the thyroid suggestion though it might very well be the problem..also do get him checked for worms as mice will give that to cats. Best of luck!

HELP! My old cats used to love those things too. I would suggest taking the kitty to the vet. Always better safe than sorry. Hope everything turns out alright.

HELP! I get my animals checked out twice a year. Mister cuddles has alot of energy and trys going out side but freaks out. lol. it’s funny he will step out the door and look around a bit and see a car and run back in. Hes been losing weight lately but he always loses and gains. My mom says that hes just fat b/c hes an inside male thats fixed and eats alot and chases mice. I’m not sure if he eat them or not.I think he may just kill them for the sport of things. Hes odd but i love him. Anyways, I never got a pic of him b/c he doesn’t sit still in my room much but i’ll keep trying. See ya-Anna

HELP!
I have the same problem with my cat, he is a male and nutered and he is very heavy. My family usually just cuts down on the treats/snacks for him. Also yet this is expensive we get him the diet dry cat food. See how he acts when he is on a diet, also you can help by getting him a toy if he likes to play since he is an inside cat. Get one of those long sticks with the feather on top of it if you know what I mean. Lots of cats like to chase that around, which benefits him for the excersize. As for the mice problem we had the same situation, except our cats just liked to play with them they didn’t kill/eat them. Basically this is what you do plug up all the holes around you house. Don’t even pass a crack because mice can get in the smallest places. They can compress their body and bones till they fit in. The mice are probably adding to his weight which could also be a concern. Try a while with the diet before the vet, usually its just the cats appitite/genetics.

HELP! If your cat is gaining too much weight try cutting the food down to just 1 cup a day. If hes eating mice too maybe that will help him lose weight. I have 3 females that are spayed and one of them is getting fat and the other 2 are normal size. I think alot of it depends on the animal.

HELP! I had a "fat cat" that was very active. He lived a long and healthy life. Cats are just like people, we all have diff. body structures. Maybe he’s supposed to be this way. It could be a trait. His parents could have been heavy!!!LOL! If you do regular check ups, and the vet never found anything wrong, then it’s probably the way he is!!!
