Talk to 3240 in the monitor lizard forum. He has breed Cyclura Lewisi, Cyclura Cornuta, and Cyclura Nubila all without UVB. Accurate temperatures and humidity are far more important and often the cause of MBD and other ailments. I understand that some lizards use UVB rays to help synthesize calcium, but it has been proven unnecessary by many keepers. I just don’t understand why it’s necessary for Chameleons. That’s right. That’s why you dust you crickets before feeding. Wild insects on the other hand are known to have much higher calcium levels. |
