  sticks for chameleon

i just recently purchased a veiled chameleon and i was just wondering what kind of sticks i could use and if i use ones from outside what do i need to do to them before putting them into the cage? i heard to bake them or boil them i was just wondering what i needed to do for sure.....thanks

Baking is okay as long as the branches are of a non-toxic tree species. Pines, firs, cedars, other conifers and Black Locust are all toxic and should be avoided in cham enclosures.
The best branches/vines are manufactured specifically for reptile habitats. They can be washed/disinfected regularly to prevent mold, fungus, bacteria and parasites.

Researching a particular animal’s specific needs is also highly recommended BEFORE you make a purchase.

thanks for the info and i didnt purchase the chameleon he was given to me from a friend with the screened habitat and everything so i ouldnt pass it up...also i have i book n it didnt say in there what to do with the sticks..but anyways do u know a wesite i coud order them reptile branches from?
