If you do your research and are prepared to take on a difficult animal to maintain-them they make great pets. No they do not like to be handled for the most part and stress out easily.

Chameleons in general do not like to be handeled and do not deal with the stress of handling well at all. Do your research on Jacksons. Two males should never be kept together, and most are better housed alone. Verticle enclosures are better than horizontal and glass tanks make poor housing choices. Screened cages allow for good ventilation. Humidity is a key factor in any chameleon species. 70-80% humidity is achieved with frequent mistings or making a drip system. Food consists of crickets, roaches, grasshoppers. Supplement feedings with vitamin dust everyday and D3 dust once a week. Jacksons like a hot spot at 80 degrees and cool in 70. They also require UVB lighting and this can be achieved with a 5.0 UVB bulb. They give birth to live offspring.

good luck
and continue your research on these before you purchase
