 Big mistake!!!!

Height. Height will draw them up and away.

Since they are arboreal, the higher up a tree they can go, the better for them. Unfortunately, too many people make the mistake of thinking since their chams move so slowly most of the time, they can’t move any other speed. Way wrong, obviously. They’re little opportunists.

I made the mistake once of leaving my Quad on the 4 foot tall plant in the shower. I didn’t check on him as quickly as I usually do. The tub is deeper and wider than a usual one, a Jacquizi, and was covered on the inside with a vinyl liner and on the outside with a fabric curtain.

When I returned, he was gone. I have no idea how he did it, but he left the tub, walked 8 feet across the floor and up onto a live Sanseveria plant sitting on a little wrough-iron table. He was so well blended with the plant it took me about 10 minutes to find him ... frantic the entire time.

Just keep looking .. up. And good luck to both of you! I know it would kill me to lose any of my chams like that.

 Big mistake!!!!

no, theres a whole forest of trees like magnolia, oak, pine, and countless vines and bushes so i highly doubt i will ever get a glimpse of him again.some of the big trees have to be 120 feet tall anyway.

 Big mistake!!!!

Use a flashlight at night, thats how to find them.

My experience also say that they usually are not "gone", most of the time they are in that same tree, you just cant see them.

Good advice re: flashlight at night. I’ve heard that also. Much easier to find when they’re asleep and throwing their bright rest colors. Fortunately, never had to test it. Like Gottee Guy I’m surrounded by trees, and tall thick bushes. Trees too tall to see anything as small as a cham.

Off topic, I was working in the back yard last weekend, noticed a hawk circling overhead above a walnut tree near where I was. Nothing unusual about that, but I always watch the hawks and enormous turkey vultures when they glide. Suddenly the hawk swooped down into the uppermost foliage and emerged with a full-grown squirrel, plucked deftly from a branch or nest. It was a little sad to see the squirrel squirming and screetching as the hawk flew away with its prize, but at the same time awesome to see the power, agility, strength and keen eye of the hunting hawk. Thought you’d appreciate that one, Jonas :)

Hope all is well!

Well I like squirrels, yet there is something comical with that whole scene. One would think that the badass bird could pick on a mountain goat, a coyote, grizzly or something like that, but no.... Its squirrel dinner time.

I dont have to go out to experience the beauty of life today, my Sanzinia is going at it like minks (another good choise for the hawk). Sure its a bit off season for them, but they just dont care - its too good to pass up i guess.
The funniest thing ever happened just a few days ago as one of the males were just starting to shed over the head, and he was trying to loos the shed in his front at the same time as he was trying to mate with a female with his tail. If he had been eating and taking a dump at the same time life would have been fullfilled I think.

wow,

No discouragement intended, but slim are the chances that you’ll find him.
