 Chameleon can’t use tounge

my chameleon seems to of hurt his tounge as he can not extend it to catch food , i’m having to hand feed him .does ayone have any ideas as vet is closed for holiday weekend

This is a "common" syndrome that have many causes. Apart from physical damage, some deficiencies can cause this. One common aspect is that it is seldom something that compleatly heals. The tongue is usually damaged for good.

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FOR HIM OTHER THAN TRYING TO HAND FEED HIM. I GOT HIM TO EAT 3 CRICKETS & 4 MEALWORMS TODAY

If you are able to get him to eat by handfeeding and he is readily taking food AND you don’t notice any swelling he should be fine until Tuesday.
