Carpet chameleons(furcifer lat. lat) is a freat chameleon.
They husbandry is much the same as a panthers(furcifer pardalis)
Both panthers and carpets have some of the widest territories in Madagascar.
So, their husbandry is much the same.
In carpets the female is the more beautiful sex.
Females will lay a clutch of infertile eggs if they are not bred.
Becareful when purchasing a carpet though.
Ususally the are wild caughts and loaded with parasites.
I would spend a little extra money and get a captive bred.
This way you dont need to worry about acclimating them.
I would reccomend a good breeder like Chad at TikiTikiReptiles.com or Mike at FlChams.com
Chad specialty is actually carpet chameleons.
Dont try to breed them.
Incubation is well over a year, and the eggs need to go into a cold(diapause) phase for a few months.
This takes a fridge that the door is slightly cracked or a wine cooler.
I think it take 65 degrees for atleast 3 months.

Hope that helps
