Do plenty of research before you buy, get info/recommendations on breeders/sellers, get an enclosure and all accessories together and then enjoy the addiction :)

Here’s a good place to start research:

i done a lot of research lol

there are no breeders local but i have found some promising sounding specimens nearby

i have an enclousure dill was an arboreal species and after his tragic death his tank has been cleaned out and will be reused for a chameleon dimensions are 4 foot high 3 long and 2 wide

since i live in the uk flexariums really are not an option to me due to the climate

i have almost everything im gonna need some more branches and plants would help though

Im just visiting and trying to learn more about them right now. My poor Angus just passed away a few days ago. Now his empty viv is staring at me. Thinking about getting a pair of Veileds for it... then the bottom tank will probably be for a Tokay :)

But I feel your pain, its hard to loose a pet, wether you had him for 5 years 2 years 1 year a few months or a few weeks.

*HUGS*

dilly died on wednesday (MBD when a caresheet tells you locusts need no dusting and the publisher isnt a reptile vet specifically dont listen) yeah dill used to live in my bedroom which is quite small and his tank was quite large so i cant really avoid it and it cost too much to get rid of and im by no means done with the hobby

dont house chameleons together lol they would kill each other they’re way too territorial but unless im thinking of another CWD keeper u have a 6x3x6 tank or something huge like that right? if so split it in half with a divider that isnt see through then get 2 lol

Haha tokay’s are very funny little guys but just so vicious

yeah i spent all the time since november trying to tame dill he took almost all of my attention because i became fixed on taming the little guy and i finally managed it after months of trying the little guy was smarter than any lizard i ever kept he was calculating and suspicious of humans. Things were really good for a while then he got ill the vets said the x ray DIDN’T show anything wrong. We took him out of county (we live on the boarder in the UK between cornwall and devon and a better clinic said he had MBD and kept him over night then he was a little better in the morning so he got sent home again with medication but he died the following afternoon

what happened to Angus i remember you spoke of him highly

Yeah I was talking to Lelareed4 about the territorial thing. A solid opaque devider down the middle will work then?

Its a 6ft wide almost 2ft deep and 5ft tall enclosure... should be able to split it no problem... take out the devider if I ever wish to breed them and then after mating replace the devider...

I love Tokays they are so cute, I know they are vicious but he will fit right in with me :D

Not sure what happened with Angus no signs of anything. Was eating and basking and looked fine all the way up until his seizure a few weeks ago. Then he was still eating but didnt look good... we think he had a Brain Aneurysm. He never grew like he was supposed to either. Only 4 inches or so the entire year I had him. I think he had some type of genetic defect or something.

Thats too bad about Dill, There is so much info out there its hard to decifier which is correct and which is a load of bull.

i agree especially with frilleds there are a handfull of keepers in the world and less in the UK he was a real find but noone really knows much about them in captivity so people guess with the species a lot or mention what worked for them but there is sometimes external factors to consider

hmmm genetic defaults i never heard of that causing such issues in lizards but it happens in humans so it makes sense lol

haha fair play some day ill get myself a water monitor so i guess mentioning about the tiny angry gecko is a little hipocritical lol
