Question
My Water Dragon Angus passed away a few days ago (RIP ANG) and now his empty viv staring at me has got me wondering... OK so dimensions.... 5ft tall - 6ft wide- just under 2ft deep. I know they need mostly screen if not all screen enclosure. The fresh air flow is best for them. This enclosure is not finished being built yet but I was planning to put poly coated screening over the place where the plexi-glass doors were going to go. Along with a screen on the top. Enough Ventilation? Do I need a fresh air exchanger... thingy? (the bottom of the pic shows a tank which will be housing something else and the floor built into the enclosure.
Now I have been doing a lot of research and I understand that its not just a lizard you put in a tiny box and say there ya go. I have currently with my Angus passing away 1 male water dragon, 2 female leopard geckos, 2 male green anoles, 1 male 1female red ear slider turtle. I am not a beginner and am well experienced. But I do need help and opinions With that size enclosure could I house a male and female? Perhaps but a devider straight down teh middle? Remove the devider if I wish to breed at a much later date or something? Do I need the devider? I will be able to take care of any possible breeding, eggs, and hatchlings. Could I do two females and one male in that enclosure???? I notice that some people (and well justified) here make a lot of comments abotu experience and research. So to avoid all that and get to the point my web site is on my profile along with allexperts.com which I am a "expert" in category reptile, iguana, turtles. My work is also seen there. Thanks Yexi |

not bad for purely based on research eh? oh i think you may already know this but MBD is a huge issue with captive chameleons do whatever you can to avoid it the legs should be a v shape at the knee/elbow/whatever not a u shape but yeah other than that maybe someone who has a chameleon currently can help? |

Yeah i know they lay infertile eggs and I am prepared for that and eventually I wouldnt mind tryign to breed them so I think I will look into a male/female pair. I have seen pictures of Chams eating leopard Geckos.... I think I might have to move the enclosure to a different room... perfect view of my leos... they would be able to see the anoles, the leos and the turtles... not good :| And I am sure it woudl stress the heck outta the leos and anoles. Do you think if they were in view of Diego that it would be a problem? I dont know... I think Diego could take them lol... he is my macho dragon. lol MBD seems to be huge/common problem in all of them... I will keep a close eye out for it though thx |

yeah they aren’t fussy lol. haha yeah sounds about right for the anoles cant imagine a leo getting a big deal of it though lol. yeah Diego will be seen as a major threat Chameleons seem to hate everything lizardish that isnt small enough to be food. So a 3 foot male water dragon would anger any chameleon beyond belief from what people tell me more chameleons die of MBD than natural causes not too sure u can say that about other species lol |

I can move the cage so they cant see the little guys and the little guys dont get stressed.... but the only other place in the hosue I can think of now is straight across the room from monster Diego! :D You would be surprised how many people come to me asking for help that their Leopard Gecko has MBD.... everyday it seems I get a question about it. That and Bearded Dragons... Perhaps it is because they are the most common lizards though... There are more Leos and Beardies in the pet trade then just about anything else yknow? Dont know any percents... I will have to find somewhere for the lizards to all get along and not feel threatened... I know the anoles and the geckos would definately feel threatened by Diego. Heck my 10yr old sister feels threatened by them. When she comes to spend the night she wont even sleep in the living room LOL :D |

ahh well where the anoles and gecko’s would seem like a snack to the chameleons diego would almost deffinately be seen as a rival and cham’s really suck when stress is concerned just find some kinda arrangement that allows you to put the chameleons facing away from all the other reptiles yeah not a surprise particularly bearded dragons since they have high calcium needs yeah everyone has a leopard gecko these days even here in the UK haha my sister will come and handle puff (my water dragon) or she will come down and handle fluffy (ball python), castro (red tail boa), rambo (burmese python) or aphrodite (very grumpy jungle carpet python) but diill always scared her, he was kinda conditionally tame he would let me handle him and play with him like he was a puppet but anybody else and it was frill up and teeth out he wasn’t afraid to bite them either lol. haha does he bite? or is it random phobia is there no rooms in your house that have a fair bit of space? when i move out after college and university i’m gonna dedicate a room to my reptiles not sure how ide keep my sticky tongued friend from being scared maybe put him in the living room or something lol |
