This is not true, it is a matter of VENTILATION, look at how your ventilation in your house looks. You dont need a screen cage rto get good ventilation, thats a myth - a myth that unfortunatly make people keep their animals in too-low humidity instead.

Please dont "give advice" on things you are not sure of.

Definitely ... needs WAY more foliage. Why not use the same foliage you had for your frilly? Just disinfect it and put it in there!
Little George needs to feel secure, espcially since he has so little cover, so keep handling to a minimum for now.
He’s a lovely little cham :)

George is really cute Chez!

I will be getting a Male here soon... I dont want one that small though... but I guess it depends on what I can find.

The cage looks good but AS YOU SAID it still needs more decor and foliage. Craft stores are great to get fake plants and such. At least in a small area so that he can try to hide.

Cant wait to watch him grow up. Why don’t you go show the WD peoples!

ficus have been known to cause eye issues, and with a tank like this the humidity is already perfectly at 60% a plant would screw that right up so no lol

Ok, look, there is still no room for "lol"’s and taking this lightly. Your cage is still not very good. There is NO reason to use your perfect 60%-mark as a reason not to put plants in there, there is really nothing wrong with a higher humidity. The risk of ficus benjamin causing eye irritation is minimal and people (me included) have used it many many years without problems.

You just dont seem to understand scaling; when chameleons are small the materials in the cage must be small as well, just look at that picture, the cham is holding on to a branch as big as its own body - it should be able to grip it between its toes.

Im linking some pictures to show you how dense the shrubbery should be, just copy and paste, then shange"DOT" to a ".".

Yer sorry dude i have to agree with Jonas 77, you do need still a bit more foilage and smaller branches. Also i live in the U.K yet i have a screen cage and manage to keep heat and humidity high. Yes a also use a ficus benjamina and my cham loves it! here are some pics

Also with the cage my cham is in he is thriving, so the screen is obviously good!

Yer sorry dude but i have to agree with Jonas77 as you do need a lot more foliage for the cham to feel safe, also i live in the UK yet have a screened enclosure for my cham yet i can manage to sustain high temperatures and humidity... it just takes a little work! Heres a few pics:

Also with this cage my chameleon love it, he totally thrives so i must be doing something right!!!

i had this tank already and as i said the chameleon is doing good he’s nice and settled so i wont be using a flexarium.

look at how your ventilation in your house looks. You dont need a screen cage rto get good ventilation,

I also don’t eat off the walls, lick my drinks off the sofa, and crap on the floor of my only >>1 ROOM<< house..just a thought :)
In my opinion screen cages are better, so long as you keep the humidity up. Can a cham live in a completely closed enclosure..yea, but most anyone you will talk to will suggest and know a screen cage is better. There has obviously been alot of problems with ventilation and disease in the past otherwise 90% of the cham community and cham breeders wouldn’t use and suggest you use screen cages.
But you know what they say ..
Opinions are like.. well you know the rest. lol

Well considering that he’s been living for weeks in that tank somehow i don’t think he’s suffocating. And he’s doubled in size since we got him. He’s 8" now, so somehow I think he’s doing well. And as for everyone saying about the plant, there’s a reason why, you may not have experianced problems with a ficas yourself but there have been reports and we don’t want to take that risk. Also about the foliage, we said that we’re getting more so quit going on about it as if we’re not going to get any. sheesh!

cammo 08 did you quite possibly eat wall candy as a child ??? just asking

and how can you keep humidity up with out spending a couple hundred or even a few thousand dollars on a humidifier, its an all screen cage your humidity is going to escape depending on where you live , if you live in the united states where its hot and humidity is very high , then an all screen enclosure is fine where as canada and europe get very dry air in our winter months so we use a glass enclosure that has proper ventilation and if you have proper ventilation then there is no worrying of your animal geting sick

if you have PROPER ventilation then whats the problem ??? the problem is ppl arent doing enough research befor they get there animal and its not fair at all to the animal that the owner is uneducated
