 Questions

I recently got a baby Veiled Chameleon and today I noticed that he has white crusty stuff hanging out of his nostrils. Is this normal is he getting ready to shed is he sick

I have an air conditioner in my room he is also in my room i try not to turn his heat light off at night because I’m afraid that it will get to cold in his cage is this wrong

and I know to spray his habitat 1 to 2 times a day should I also be spraying him

and should he have real plants in his habitat or are fake ones ok

any help will be greatly appreciated

 Questions

The white crusty stuff is just excess salts/minerals he is expelling and is normal. It likely will cease as he gets older.

As for the heat light on at night .... chams are diurnal, meaning they keep regular day/night cycles like us. They need light and heat during the day, and darkness at night so they can sleep. The AC unit in your room may only be a problem if it blows directly on your cham or if it gets below 55-60 F at night. You should measure your cage temps at the hottest and coolest parts to be certain that it is not too hot OR too cold. Too hot is just as bad as too cold where babies are concerned.

He can have both real potted plants and artificial plants/branches/vines in his cage. Real plants help maintain humidity; most experienced keepers use both in their enclosures.
