 Pictures I Promised

Well i have no clue where the big thread went but i guess it was time for it to get deleted. Anways i said i would post some pics on that thread and here they are. Sorry if some are bad, some were taken with my phone.

Heres my one and only pic of my Ambilobe panther chameleon, his name is Chameleonaire.

Heres my male satanic leaf tailed gecko Lucifer.

Heres a few of Lucy, my female satanic leaf tailed gecko.

Heres my male jungle carpet python who doesnt have a name.

And last but not least, my female albino burmese python ~ Medusa.

This was her when i first got her, a few weeks old.

Here is her now, 10 months later.

What do you mean?
Sure it is a picture, a picture with a skinny chameleon in it.

I have to agree-that is a skinny chameleon. Pictures can sometimes make things look different-but you can see the bones in that guys legs.

Rexxaroo, clearly animal welfare is not an interest of yours. As long as someone is showing pictures everything is ok, is that your point?

excuse me jonas, i did not mean to cause such an uproar i know you guys meant well i just thought that if its just a picture, pictures distort like he said and if his chameleon looked skinny, then its ok to say stuff to him about it but you dont need to keep ranting. he got the point sorry.

Rex, the thing is, Ive been tinkering with chameleons for a while now and I like to think that I know a little something about them. I figured there might be someone who did not have the experience to see what I see in that picture, and give a heads up. You yourself kind of proove my point, I know for a fact that this is not a camera-illution, had you known what I know you would have agreed...

This chameleon is skinny on the picture. Not deadly skinny, and I am NOT putting any kind of judgement towards the husbandry care - its just a heads up.
A skinny chameleon can get a slightly wors immune system, have a bigger risk of catching some illness and get into even worse trouble. Things can move fast, thats why I gave the heads up....

Jonas, i can take a picture right now with him looking in really good shape, it was the picture that made him look skinny, like i said, he doesnt look skinny at all, hes in good shape and if you want a picture to prove it, just let me know.

ok i was trying to stay out of it, but i do have to say that he does look thin to the point of concern , on the other hand that that satanic gecko thing is hauntingly cool, could you house one of them things with a montane cham ? now wouldnt that be a wild morph ? [not lterally of course, i am not a total moron (well, depending on who you ask)]

Sure, take a picture and show us. It does not really matter though, this first picture shows a skinny chameleon, there is no question about it. Its not the shadows or the camera, this much I know. I happen to be an advanced hobby-photographer as well.

There might be some time between the picture and the one you take now, in that case its very possible for the chameleon to have ggained weight.

No need to get defensive, I was only giving you a tip. Ive had chameleons looking like that or worse at some point and they all fattened up real nice.

I cant really see much on those pictures. There is a slight sign of the spine there that indicate a slightly thin animal.

Look, there is no big deal here, just up the feed a bit and youre fit to go in notime.

I mist 3 times a day and i feed my chameleon in a container, i just put the crickets in a container with calcium and i put the container in the cage. Who cares if i have wood chips, never had a problem with them.

In all honesty, wood chips CAN cause a problem. Crickers can escape and one piece could be swallowed. They can also just go nuts and start eating it, they often eat different matteriel like dirt and soil.
Next, just because you never had a problem doesnt mean youre safe in the future.

Try using a finer matterial if you HAVE to use a substrate, something like peat mull is good. Best would be to ceep the floor free, maybe a newspaper to collect the droppings.

Good luck

Well honestly, i know about the whole ingestion problem that may happen, thats why all of my other animals are on paper towel but ive never had a problem when my chameleons were on repti bark. And the cool think about this cham is that he only craps in one spot and thats on the waterfall, all i gotta do is take a piece of the waterfall and clean it and replace it.

with evey post you make we find something you are doing wrong....just give us a full and ddetailed status of the cage... every inch and detail...water falls are a breeding ground for bacteria and will have beacteria unless you clean in daily. DONT tell me you clean it daily. and thats not how chams get water in the wild...so why is it in there?
